Working together with First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities to share knowledge and build health and wellbeing solutions.
About the SE First Nations, Inuit and Métis Program
SE Health is a national social enterprise providing home care, health solutions and education to people where they are and when they need it. As a not-for-profit organization with Canadian roots and more than 100 years of expertise, we’re accelerating health care innovation to support healthy lives globally.
How we work: Partnership and Collaboration
Through partnership and collaboration, the SE First Nations, Inuit and Métis (FNIM) Program works to support the recognition, understanding and practice of nation-based, culturally safe and community-driven approaches to First Nations, Inuit and Métis health and wellbeing. We have three main areas of focus:
SE Learning
Providing current and relevant continuing education is integral to supporting quality care delivery. Barriers related to time, geography and cost can limit access to ongoing education and training for health care providers in rural, remote and isolated communities. For close to 20 years, SE Health has partnered with FNIM communities to overcome these barriers through the innovative use of technology. Education programs include professional development and vocational programs offered in partnership with SE Career College of Health.
SE Community Engagement
Community mobilization projects and action based research to bring FNIM communities together to share experiences, create resources, and provide meaningful insights to health and wellbeing initiatives.
SE Advisory Services
Helping organizations and communities evaluate gaps in current state of care and provide recommendations on solutions to support capacity and improve access to care.
