In 2015 the Saint Elizabeth First Nations, Inuit and Métis (FNIM) Program, in partnership with the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA), released the course First Nations Infection Prevention and Control on @YourSide Colleague®.

In partnership with NITHA, the Saint Elizabeth FNIM Program has added the 2016 Health Canada Environmental Service Training Guide to Module 3 of the course for Environmental Services Staff (Janitors, Custodians).

Community-based workers who have cleaning duties can continue to complete the existing Module 3 content.

The course contains 4 modules:

Module 1: Basic Infection Prevention and Control - All Learners
Module 2: Health Directors and Nurse Managers
Module 3: Environmental Services Staff: Janitors and Custodians
Module 4: Direct Care Providers: Nurses, Dental Therapists, Home Health Aides

The First Nations Infection Prevention and Control course is available on @YourSide Colleague® at no cost.
