Course Description

This three-session course (6 hours total) is designed to empower healthcare leaders with essential knowledge and actionable strategies for leading effectively within Indigenous communities. The program emphasizes performance management techniques, recruitment and retention strategies, and leadership approaches that promote cultural safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Participants will gain practical tools to foster positive relationships, enhance team dynamics, and drive better outcomes within healthcare settings.

Intended Audience:

This program is tailored for:

  • Leaders in health and social services, including managers, health directors, supervisors, coordinators, clinical directors, patient service representatives, and others in leadership roles.

Course Instructors:

This course will be facilitated by:

  • An Indigenous Registered Nurse, bringing lived experience and cultural insights.
  • A Registered Nurse Ally, with expertise in leadership and collaboration within Indigenous healthcare contexts.

Both instructors have extensive leadership experience and a commitment to fostering culturally safe healthcare environments.

  • Monitoring and evaluating recruitment and retention efforts.
