SE Career College of Health is a regulated not-for-profit vocational school, registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, focusing exclusively on health education. Our Indigenous vocational programs are led by Indigenous Instructors and allies who understand the unique strengths Indigenous learners have and barriers and issues that Indigenous learners experience. We are committed to cultural safety, ensuring it is an essential component woven throughout our programs and an approached modeled by our Instructors.
As a method to increase student success, we provide a comprehensive orientation to our online learning platform. Our dedicated Student Success Coordinator works with individual students when needed, to support our learners’ wholistic needs. Our programs are delivered in a blended delivery format combining in person and on-line learning.
SE First Nations, Inuit and Métis Program team, in collaboration with the SE Career College of Health, has successfully delivered more than 24 certified Indigenous Blended Delivery Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker and Community Health Representative cohorts with more than 153 graduates and additional cohorts currently underway.
Students report that the program is culturally-safe and prepares them for practice.
Employers consistently report graduates are well prepared and excellent additions to their teams.
