• SK CHR Community First Aid Training and Naloxone Training
  • SE Health and St. John Ambulance collaborated to train and support Community Health Representatives (CHRs) with the skills they need to save lives – particularly in their own remote, First Nation communities, in Saskatchewan.
  • Together with Dr. Michael Dan, philanthropist and social entrepreneur, the two, like-minded organizations, with long histories and shared values, developed a highly specialized and modular, first aid training program, that saw its first cohort graduate on Friday, November 29, 2019. In early 2020, the CHRs returned to their respective First Nation communities to train community members on the same first aid program.
  • Sometimes, people in remote communities have access to limited services and are required to handle emergencies on their own, or, until first responders arrive. There can also be a number of barriers to accessing first aid training in remote communities. This program supports CHRs, a critical health resource in the community, to overcome these barriers. SE Health and St. John Ambulance hope to expand the program to other Indigenous communities across Canada.
