Candice Sanderson, BN, RN

Education Liaison

Candice Sanderson is a Registered Nurse from Misipawistik Cree Nation.

Candice moved to Brandon to complete her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2000 in hopes to go to Medical School, although life had other plans. Candice started out her career in the medical field as a Health Care Aide. She then went to ACC in Brandon and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate in 2007. As an LPN Candice worked in many Long-Term Care Facilities in Brandon, Neepawa and Souris. In 2011 Candice graduated from the Bachelor of Nursing Program at Brandon University. Since then she has worked on the Surgical Units, Medical Unit, GI Unit, Rehabilitation Unit and for 2 years on the Palliative Care Unit at Brandon Regional Health Centre. Candice began working in Sioux Valley at Dakota Oyate Lodge PCH. She then moved to Sioux Valley Health Centre and was the Community Health Nurse, Home Care Nurse and Chronic Care Nurse. Candice also worked at Canupawakpa Health Centre as the Community Health Nurse, Home Care Nurse and eventually as the Health Director. She began working at SE Health in February 2021 as a First Nations Program Instructor and is currently an Education Liaison with the SE FNIM Program.

Candice has 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
